I have been advised, by technical support at Dunlop/Bal, to use their most expensive adhesives but I do not believe I need to use these adhesives that cost more than my tiles per m2! It is as if I told them I was going to fix tiles on an old creaky floor with distorted floor boards that are coming off.
My floors (in bathrooms) are new and therefore I had to do a lot of work to comply with the new regulations. I used 22mm water resistant T&G chipboard which is nailed and glued to every joist, the nails being spaced 300mm or less. It is also glued on every single joint and also every single joint is supported and glued underneath (no floating joints). Also, the floor areas are not large (3.5x2m average)
They recommended BAL Fastflex 2 part or Dunlop 2 part Rapidset Flexible, which, as I said above, are ridiculously expensive.
Can people recommend cheaper alternatives that will do the job just as well?
