Hi peeps

Ive got my first external job in the New Year. Not exactly my favourite time of year to be working outside but the job has to be done before April. Regarding dealing with the tempurature (obviously cant be too cold or ady and grout wont go off) and weather do i just suck it and see what happens and do what I can when i can? Even though that could cause havoc with other work.
Anyone know a good meteorologist?!

cheers

I would seriously consider putting that one off til April. Explain to the customer that doing it in January introduces unnecessary risks to the integrity of the adhesive and may well spoil the job. Sell the idea to them as if you're doing them a favour by delaying it, which you are.

I made the mistake of replacing and painting an outside ledge and brace gate in the winter. No other job has ever given me so much grief (even the ones worth 10x the cash). I was lucky to clear materials costs plus a few quid. I spent ages painting that gate.

I should have delayed it, but they were panicking as they like to go away a lot and couldn't shut the old one securing their back garden. What I should have done is plane down the old one for them as a temporary measure until the weather got a bit warmer.

if you must do it whilst weather can be inclement,(but as Dave said not below 5 degrees) use rapid set if possible and don't mix any more 3 hours before sunset. Brrrr...! have you got somewere to mix and cut? a gazebo (well anchored down) could help. Also if you have a tarpaulin, cover your work over at night just to give it a bit exta frost protection. Good luck Miss,
