This one's for the ladies...
I've noticed, that almost every time a female join the forums, wether she be a tiler or an amateur looking for advice on a project, she introduces herself as a female who's looking for advice or some such, because she is a female...
What's up with that?
Now, I can understand if many would be female tilers and DIY'ers feel they're venturing into men's territory, but surely not all men know everyting (or anything, for that matter) about tiling and practical stuff?
I recognize and embrace the fact that there are many more or less marked differences between the sexes, and that men and women often have very different interests. However, if anyone, wether it be a he or a she, has questions regarding tiling, the surrounding trades, or some other practical issue, surely it is not because of what that person has between his or her legs? Isn't it rather because he or she doesn't know the answer to his or her question?
So pleeease drop the gender act. It does both females and males a disservice.
Just wanted to get that off my mind.
And oh, don't misstake me for a feminist or some such ********; I'm most certainly not. I'm merely individualist.
