I finished up my DIY shower and all is well except . . . The floor is evenly spaced small rock/pebble (laid in mortar with grout) which was properly lined and sloped etc so all of the water (OK, 95% of the water) drains nicely. I do have one small area (3" by 5" in a 36" by 60" shower) that retains water (a puddle). My plan is to simply go back to that area and add a small bit of grout to raise it. My questions to all of you wise ones is: Will this plan work? Can I simply add a layer of grout on top of the existing grout (which has been in for 60 days or so).

Thanks!
Bill

I did the same as you. (grouted over my grout) simply because I thought I had wiped away too much and the effect was a raked back look. I didnt want that so just skimmed over the first lot with an additional lot.

So far (5 years) and it hasnt seperated. Grout is a tough bugger so it does seem to stick quite well. I guess if you could dig it out a bit to give it more of a key that might help.

Failing that as Dave says its really "your call".
