Ceilings normally white or cream so using caulk of same colour blends it in.

I mask a tape line around walls 3mm down from ceiling and it always gives a perfect straight line around ceiling, looks far better than a joint filled with grout

I never do grout or use silicon,always advise to client to leave for decorator/use caulk.
Grout cracks overtime,paint pilling off from silicon.

For me I always Silicon. If ceiling is already painted then I do it there and then. If it isn't, then I return after it is painted. Always use a fugi tool
