First attempt

First attempt at the tiling. Tiled the kitchen floor but not looking great when grouted . Is there a way i can tidy up the grout round the grout lines or is that how its going to look.

It's a bit scruffy but all in all not a bad job. A few things that need correctiing, but otherwise not too bad!

The pics not too clear but if your not happy with the grout joints try to rub them in with a hard sponge or similar pad.
That's if they are still workable slightly.

Ok will give it a bash just make the sponge a bit damp with water ? How could i stop that happening again just work the float better. Found when going at an angle i was still leaving alot of excess grout on the tiles.

Just done it in my own house Bri. Went on a one week course end of march so just having a bash. Want to get the hang off it so can maybe do a couple of jobs

Don't wet the sponge, just dampen a little.
I only use a washboy to clean the grout from floors etc and forms joints lovely.

Maybe get a washboy then if that does the trick gona have a crack at the bathroom next

It's all about confience, you have a bit too much grout left on the tiles, don't be scared to wash the excess off!

Ok my fear was that washing too much would pull the grout out the lines. Should you just wipe the damp sponge over the tiles 15 mins after the grout has been laid depening on the grout used
