on a level wall or floor mate getting on avg 6.5m2 per 20kg, i always price up at 5m2 per bag tho so ive always got extra in case start to run low or for hollows etc and if any left carry onto next job, remembering to recharge for it obviously lol

honest mate its great gear

if using tubbed then the sontex acrylic black lid is like tar, very thick and excellent for tile on tile, the red top is great gear for general bathrooms and splashbacks and i pay 8 and 5 respectivley

the rs2 and pci flexi are sold in green and blue bags respectivley so easy to spot

absolutely spot on gear imo

Dean...screwfix are pricey for adhesives and grouts......you can now get Mapei products from CTD..........

Never used Mapie grouts though I've read on here they seem to set quite quickly, so mix in smaller batches if this is the case.

I don't think that they set quickly, but the problem is, if you mix them to their specification then they are very fine / watery. So mix it a bit thicker. They are mint grouts for floors though and leave a great finish. Just not that user friendly for walls but the colour range is a great selling point for people.

Dave,

Have you tried the sontex adhesive from CTD?
Do you know if CTD give reasonable discounts?

I priced my addy today and they came back with £17 a bag for Palace rapid
Thought that was a bit much like

Cheers

hi dean...the sontex ( dispersion ) is CTD's own adhesive and it's not bad as cheaper ranges go..ideal for ceramics in kitchens and dry area's......
When you first open a cash account with CTD you will on average get 20% trade discount... you will then get bigger discounts the more you use them......

I don't know about CTD selling palace but you can get BAL for that price...
Sontex rapid set is not bad and suitable for porcelain as well.......

Some CTD's stock different brands to others but they all stock BAL.......

Much appreciated Dave

I'm out around all the tile shops tomorrow getting my prices for grouts
If i can get BAL for that price i think i may try it

The independent i went to today only gave me 15% and that was on a £800 order!
