Hi all, just been asked to quote for a marble floor, 28 sq mtrs all on concrete floor. I have just been told that his budget is 500 quid which is VERY optomistic indeed. My rough calculations would be be £1100 including all products(adhesive/grout/sealer etc) .
I do not know whether it is polished marble or not at this stage, so maybe need some advice on cutting/sealing etc. Can I use my wet cutter? Do i need to seal prior to cutting, then seal again before grouting? Presumably use a light/white adhesive? Any advice would be great. Also do i need to include an expansion joint, having not fitted one, what does it involve?

if his budget is only £500 not even worth doin job kins, but give him price any way explain
wots involved .i.e. all tiles have to be wet cut ( labour intensifing ) then cleaned and sealed x2 then grouted then cleaned and sealed again, its alot of work and need paying accordingly. also getting back to adhesive i usaully use white on marbles etc just be on the safe side due the porousity of some stones ( so no staining ) good idea to skim back of tiles as laying to eliminate any adhesive shadows aswell, as for expansion joints depands wot you longest run is , usaually put in every 6 to 8 mtr run and if on ufh every 4 to 5 mtr run, hard to say unlees see lay out of room to be tiled. HOPE THIS HELPS MATE and good luck...
