Hi folks,
Im an indoor tiler but my mate has asked me if I can tile his patio:yikes:. Its about 10m x 3m and has a concrete surface, trouble is its badly cracked, have attached a pic for info. The surface looks to be about 3" thick and apart from the cracks seems sound enough. Can anyone advise me on surface prep. Do I screed it, creating appropriate falls, add a decoupling layer and tile on top of that or do I need to dig up the old concrete and put down a new layer several inches thick. Also being 10m long and in a sunny aspect will I need expansion gaps? Im really keen to get something new on my portfolio and all advice would be appreciated
