First shower cubicle, advice for best prep please.

Hi all, have got my first shower to tile next week, 3 new plastered walls using 150mm square tiles. I know the new plaster needs minimum 4 weeks to dry out, but i'm not sure what to use.

I only want to use Bal products, so i'm thinking i need to prime first with Bal APD, then use Bal WP1, then after 24hours tile using Bal Rapidset Flexible.

Could you give advice as to whether this would be correct and also do i need to score or sand the new plaster before priming? Do i need to prime first if using the WP1 to tank?

Why do you only want to use BAL?

hi ,you can use any good quality tanking kit you like,,it doesnt have to be bal,and as you say a cement based flexible addy would be my choice,,in white as well if its white grout

Using 150mm square ceramic tiles, no particular reason for using Bal at all, just always recommended to be as good quality products so have decided to use them with all jobs. I realise there are plenty of equally reliable brands but just personal choice.

Thanks for confirming that, would you recommend scoring the new plaster before priming, or is priming sufficient on its own?

If the finished plaster ( it is finish isn't it ) is smooth then a brush over with a wire brush, just to take off the polish, that's all I would do, nothing to heavy.
