Hi everyone

New to this so excuse me for being stupid....

I am re-doing my kitchen. I wanted to buy a stainless steel splashback, but wondered if stainless steel/metallic tiles would do the same job? The area measures 90cm by 75 cm, if the tiles are 10cm square each tile, how many tiles will I need? Thanks:thumbsup:

Hello ratbag and welcome to the forums.........

You can get those stainless splash-backs made to measure.......

As for the tiles...then they will have joints where as the spash back won't......anyway you will need 72 tiles at a tight measure , so get about 90 then it wil allow for misrtakes or breakages......

Hi Dave
Thanks for that....
On the subject of stainless steel splashbacks...I have been on here (the internet) for a few hours looking at where to buy for best value....there is SUCH a wide margin in price....dont suppose you know of anywhere that is reasonable...same measurements...cheapest I have come across is £46.24 plus 15 squids postage....I though by going direct to a manufacturer (steel works) it would be cheaper.....

thanks again!

Hi Mate, Welcome to the forums,

In terms of tiles -v- stainless, to be honest some friends of have a stainless splashback in thier kitchen and I always think it looks a bit clinical, my father and brother are chefs and it's a bit like being in the resteraunt kitchen.

Just my 2p's worth of course, it's your kitchen.
