I fish for trout on the rivers and its been a poor year aswell
Not sure why, maybe the cold start to the spring didnt help

saw that 50lb salmon on Border Lookaround yesterday,,,,jeez what a fish, heavily coloured and I was surprised that it wasn't a hen fish. Wonder how many winters it had at sea to get to that size?

They took scale samples Doug & I think it spent 2 years as a par then 3 winters at sea.
Must have been big when it 1st came back into the system.
I'm trying to get down the Etterick this weekend, they reckon 90% of the big tweed fish run up the Etterick.
A lot of big fish been taken the past few weeks.

i was looking at the tweed for a day.some of the beats look nice. some of the prices are a bit out of my league right enough.
do you ever fish the tay? good prices in feb and march

there you go boleside where the guy got the 50 pounder. is only 410 plus the vat for the saturday.
i didnt think that fish looked like a 50

Fish up at Dalguise & the Tummel.

I looked at upper floors a couple o seasons ago on the Tweed, £660+vat per day but you had to book 3 days minimum & take the hotel, worked out about £2500 for the 3 days!!

It doesn't look a 50 I agree but the sizes put it at that,
50in long & 33in girth.

Middle Etterick £50+vat for Saturday.
11 mile of water to fish = bliss!!!

I had a day on River Lyon last season, £25 for day,,,but I was tiling estate owners (Wotherspoons) bathroom at time 🙂,,,I only got a grilse though lol

fished the orchy a couple of times last season 2 fish one about 15 i reckoned. got a season ticket for the loch lomond system. trawled a few times nothing much happening,
i would like to fish the lyon its the main spawning river for the tay i think,
