Hi Guys,

First off, sorry for my bad grammar. I'm from Sweden and english isn't my native languege. 🙂

I'm about to install limestone in size 300xfalling (falling=300-700mm) in a hallway. The limestone is 100% flat on the back.
The under floor is 12 month old concrete.

In sweden there is an cement based adhesive called "flytfix" from various manufactures such as Ardex, Weber and Kiilto. It's commonly recomended when using large format tiles and eliminates the need for back buttering, since it's semi-floating and gives full coverage.

There isn't much info about this type of adhesive international wise, but from what I heard the concrete must be very flat, but the thing is that no one states how flat it should be.

In my case I have cushions next to walls that starts 2cm from the wall. When placing one end of a aluminium ruler against the wall and the other end on middle of the floor I get a 2-2,5mm gap that starts 2 cm from the wall and peaks at 5-10cm from the wall.

Will this cause any lippage or will the floating/self leveling adhedise take care of this? I will use a 12mm notch.

Anyone have experience with this type of adhesive?

Here are some links to the adhesive I'm talking about:
:: Kiilto Lattialaasti DF - http://www.kiilto.com/en/products/kiilto-lattialaasti-df/

My advice here, get the floor as flat as possible using levelling compound if needed to acheive that. The adhesive you are talking about is pourable adhesive and you can get this from BAL, called Bal pourable one and it can bed upto 25mm if I remember right. Use there large format trowel with it too, 20x14mm U notch.
