It's a difficult question to answer as floor buffer on its own won't really do either job you are looking to do , polishing marble will require specialist pads and extra weights and most buffing machine are quite light weight and the pads need weight and water to work effectively , removing laitence will also need either wire brush attachments or metal bond diamond pads , buffing machines are great for cleaning and waxing floors though
