Is it a floating floor?

Don't believe it's floating but always hard to see when there's an existing covering. If it's floating I wouldn't touch it.

ok, what size is the floor? Is it ground floor ?

probably floating floor then, if so it will need a different method from just over boarding imho without seeing it.

I would say 99% of ground floor chipboard substrate I've come across have been floaters..

I've just re-read the thread......not clear if it's chipboard or floor boards.
I would say if it's chipboard it's probably a floater , floorboards probably on joist..

if it's floor boards on ground floor probably an older house, which could be fairly easy to reinforce .

So far as I can see it's tongue and groove boards. Actually I said approx 27m2 but I think half that area is screed so hopefully less bounce being a smaller area.
