I havnt been on here for a while so I didnt put a post up at the time but I think this one still deserves a mention. Bare with me its a gooden...

Me and my brother went to have a look at a job for an old friend in june, they had come into a little bit of money and decided to make some improvements to the house. They had the kitchen floor tiled in porcelain and a new bathroom fitted with new wall and floor tiling in ceramics. Both floors had been tiled onto 6mm hardboard over floor boards and of course had lifted and cracked. It wasnt until we started to lift the kitchen floor that we realised that the tiles had been put down and grouted with silicone :yikes:
They also has a small problem about getting electric shocks from the shower, the toilet and basin had just been placed in position and siliconed and they has drilled through power cables.

The most upsetting thing about the job was that these trades people had been found and recommended by a famous website for finding good honest tradesmen!!

Sometimes good people just cant win!

when i first started a few yrs ago i got with with trust a trader v easily and I had literally just started.When I hear all these advertisements for these sites on the radio it just makes me think....heee haaa

That is absolutely appauling!

Nowadays with internet forums etc there is no excuse for people not being able to do their research and do the job properly.

Mind you, some of these people just get signed up to these websites etc, cash in then bugger off into the sunset. I've met a few myself. Amaizingly, one guy gets repeat business with some people.
