It may well be, but if you ever do have a problem, you are on your own.....Gaz

In most cases Gaz you are on your own, The customer will blame you because of the problem, I'm just following Hardie's rocommendation's for the 6mm perhaps they should be informed of the 10mm rule from adhesive company's. I have never heard from any tiler who has had problems with materials that the company has ever made a visit to the site (commercial or domestic), The shop of purchace avoids the subject like the plague, And before you say find a decent supplier believe me there thin on the ground here even running out of supplies.

PS I did notice the BAL sticker

In my previous job as a retailer selling hardiebacker, I asked the question regarding 6mm onto T&G flooring as a structural board. BAL stated that 10mm minimum cement based boards were structural and therefore single or rapid flexi was ok. These findings influenced my selling tecniques, in accordance to manufacturers specification, and James Hardie UK were informed of the results. If ever in doubt regarding BAL technical matters please contact this number, we will be happy to answer the question for you...Gaz
