Food safe stone sealant

I'm making up a set of coasters and placemats in marble mosaic and need to protect them against stains using something thats food safe. Any ideas?

A sealer will only provide flash protection to stone, if anything acidic etc is placed/spilled then if left to dwell it will etch/stain the coasters..

I wonder companies that do kitchen workstops do? Is it a case of just telling people they have to wipe off spills straight away?

hiya,i beleive for granite worktops etc there are a few sealers out there that are food safe,

would it be better to opt for a water based sealer..ltp now do water based versions i beleive

Quite few Granite comps don't seal them, the high polishing gives a tight surface tension and again they will etch with anything acidic.. some comps that i know if they do seal, use Lithofin stainstop...

Impregnators are your better sealers for what you intend to do, surface sealing( topical) isn't suitable IMO..

i think dry treat also do one that once it has fully fried is fine for food areas
