I'm not having a go dan.

Yes the criteria was to keep the tag you have to post good advice and regular , my point is as the forum gets older and older , the advice posted by greens is on the forum for ever , so forgetting about what used to be done , it is about now/today etc , a new format if what ever.
The advice should be shown to be coming from a trusted source , is that not true ?

No need to think I am trying to wind you up , I just want members to stay here and not leave because they are busy and get the tag removed.

Or make it even key and lose all the tags and members can be on an even key. Then it is up to who reads it to trust if it is correct.

I think for joe public the tags are almost essential.

My point is the same as Andys. I don't think you should have it removed because of a little inactivity. It only really needs taking away if your advice becomes untrustworthy really.

Bit like riding a bike....................

Morning Andy.

I don't think the tags are being binned. It was mentioned that som TAs that are inactive will loose theres. But have the option of gaining them back when they come back. I think this is something that has always been done and has been brought up as a way to maybe increase forum activity.
I personally dont think its a good idea to remove something from a member that is essentially an achievement just because theyre perhaps too busy to input much at present.

i certainly wont feel offended if i lose my green tag. i am hardly on the forum now. no agenda just things/people sometimes move on...but thanks the for the tag, it was really appreciated and i mean that ;0)

if i could suggest one thing to dan/admin about removing green tags it would be this...dont remove a tag from any of the time served pros on here because these guys are becoming rare! i'd rather have a few posts of 'real value and worth' from one of these lads compared to some of the 'copy & paste' regurgitated replies that you sometimes see..cherish these people and don't lose them!! they are the real reason people come here to begin with,,lose them and you lose the forum.

all the best

on vizsla forum that I moderate we don't have a tiered structure so to speak, (apart from staff), yes we have tags, but that's just awarded on post count than merit, but tbh it works quite well and although we only have maybe 6k members it's a breeze to moderate as everything is on view. Calum, who owns the site probably only logs on once a week, and myself and a lady called Mary do the day to day stuff. I know it's kind of a different scenario ie, dogs = hobby, tiling = income, but I think the less tiered structure takes away peoples apprehensions about posting against a more "ranked" member. Just a thought.
