For those that have already been on holiday this year.

Have you noticed any drop in rices at the local bars/shops etc etc.. The pound and euro are about equal... and with Spain etc really having tough times have they dropped certain prices to try and get more peeps in..?

Or is it still the same ..?

I thought it was all a bit cheaper than expected in Portugal, so didn't get any unpleasant surprises. I don't think it will make that much difference to your walk-abouts at night, just have a half less if need be..

If we do go walk about it is for a meal as well.. so can count in some ways.

I was kidding.. :lol: I don't know how differently the Euro performs across different countries, but everytime I go to Germany, in the South anyhow, I get a shock, everything seems to be at least 150% up from our prices, but in Lagos just a few weeks ago it was the same or cheaper, depending where we went. If Majorca is the same, you'll be happy I reckon. I googled Portugal prices beforehand and what I found, via different links to various travelling sites matched my experience. Have a look at those maybe?

I think Euro countries will still seem expensive to us brits. And that wont change unless we get 2 euro for 1 pound like the good old days.

Bar staff in Ibiza were nearly in tears over the bad outcome. Though France this year (though skiing to be fair so perhaps different) they were expensive but still god heads in the bars by the dozens.

You mean you won't be going clubbing, not even once?? NO WAY!! How will you resist? You will get one of those little handout leaflets from those touts outside the clubs and you will just happen to have forgotten something in the area... :lol:

NAh.. don't venture down into maggaluf.. is very scruffy actually.. had a walk around one morning to see what is there.. just the smell of pee and puke..:lol:

It is about a good 15min walk from where we are.. so far enough to not be effected at all... Palma nova is really really clean.. infact one of the cleanest places i have been too.. but still loads to do if you want it.. a few good fun pubs further down the road near the round about that takes you to maggaluf..

There was a foam bar/topless right on the sea front.. about 200 mtrs from Mcdnls.. but we were only there for about 5 days, so didn't get about much, then we were shifted to Cala millor

Also Arenal is popular with the Germans.. hence all the bars on the beach ... so good that way as well...:lol:

i stayed in callla millor a couple of years ago, nice place,i went to the the liverpool bar there and i recognised the owner, a spaniard with a scottich accent (he worked on the rigs off scotland for years) i met him about 12 years earlier in a bar he ran in s'illot. was nice catching up with him
