I was given a Chroma Type 301 FA Porsche knife by a customer and was looking to get the set but I think for the money I can get better

What do you use now if you don't mind me asking mate?

My porsche one has started to rust which I was a bit suprised about but then I've been putting it in the dishwasher when I know I shouldn't:oops:

hiya colour,,i dont chef anymore mate but if i was to buy a set of long lasting knives id get either gustavs, henkels or the wuhstoffs the globals are also amazing but they cost an absolute fortune and to be honest are designed for chefs using them 14 hours a day every day so for a household either of the 3 i named will last u forever at home. stay away from the cheaper sets these companys do with the rubber moulded handles thay aint as good quality.

dishwashers will rust your knives also and sometimes banana them with the heat just best washin in the sink:thumbsup:

I have heard of all those but heard good things about the Henkels and sort of discounted the wooden handle ones. The Globals look beautiful and i didn't think they were much more expensive than Henkels, If i'm going to start buying them cost isn't really that much of a factor as I want them for life, I want to make the right choice on this one as it could be a costly mistake if I go for the wrong one.

Which would you say feels the nicest in the hand, balance wise?

A friend of mine runs Jamie Olivers Recipease in Brighton and they have some Japenese knives in there (not his own brand) that I want to try out, they do a knives skills course where you get to try them. Can't remember the brand now. I wouldn't buy them just because it's endorsed by Jamie but thought i'd give them a go
