Forgot Probe!!

3 small floors, with UFH cables laid yesterday.

Self levelled this morning

Just sitting here.........and just realised, that I missed one of the probes. :yikes:

Either scrape out enough self level and then fit.

Or place on top of self levelling compound and tile. Obviously not the best reading.

All these floors are no more than 1metre.

Oh the joys of tiling.

I've done it before, the builder I was doing the work for docked me my days wage, I thought it was a major balls up
back then, turns out he robbed me! Experience is a wonderful thing.

I should be able to scrape out a channel in the self levelling compound.

Trouble is......I'm not back for a week. Hope he doesn't notice?

Fit the probe.

First job for me when fitting ufh is always cut 2 channels . 1 for the probe , 1 for the cold tail joint . I then pug these in , then prime floor.
At my age i need a system.

If you can see the run of cables , then ye just cut it in when you go back ..

Seen myself putting a probe in wet slc before so nowadays the first thing I do is set the probe on the floor (not on the windowsill)

Same as dave, Should be able to see the cables through the slc, I'd cut in then fill with rapid

It was a Toolstation kit??? Never used them B4

Daft thing is.......I had put the probe in the shower tray because I had forgotten to do it when I laid the cables........and I even moved it out of my way when pouring the compound.
