Fresh screed!!!

hillhead

Hello buddies,
ok to start with i have a 30m2 floor in the hotel to tile on MONDAY !
Has to be finished on monday as there is a big rush in this end of the hotel, its only a prep kitchen floor this one, problem is the screed has only been put down yesterday(thursday).
There is a rapid set additive applied to it and was walked on today and feels nice and hard, cures very quick i'm told, but i have to supply the addy for monday and was wondering what i should use?????????
Mapei is my fav brand but need advice,a flexi to help the bond i think is in order, not nice tiling so soon on fresh screed but i have little choice.
What would you use??
thanks.

Bal Green Screed, mate.
That has to be the best option on this one.

Branty or Gaz should be able to tell you exact specs on that though.

Joe, have you thought of ditra matting first? Might take a few more hours but you are gonna have a long day anyway!
The matting would guarantee you any vapour could move out and not cause the tiles to go boast and lift.

I go along with the Ditra myself. Maybe cover all bases and use green screed addy under the Ditra?

Thanks Drew and Davy,
not sure if the green screed works well after 3-4 days!
Not sure if the matting price would go down wel either,i'm supplying though.

you can use green screed adhesive from bal it is a really good adhesive but i dont think you will be able to grout it especially if the tiles are porcelain i used gsa last year and remember having to wait 2 weeks to grout it please correct me if i i am mistaken you would probably be better off with an uncoupling membrane at least you can complete the floor then

The tiles are Pilkingtons i think, small 6" or 8" square !! lovely with that amount of mtrs ! non slip for them lovely cooks and all, lol.

MAPEIs most flexible adhesive is called Elastorapid I believe. It's their newest adhesive I belive.

If you are going to use Ditra then you will need to use a standard setting highly flexible adhesive on fresh screed.......bal green screed and bal spf are among a few that are ideal.....

CEMENT: SAND SCREEDS:
Lay screed to the required thickness in accordance with BS
8204:1999 using appropriate cement and fine aggregate sand
(BS 882:1983 Grade C or M) in the proportions 1:3 to 1:4.5 parts
by weight. Cement: sand screeds, including BAL Quickset
Cement screeds, must be at least 24 hours old prior to tiling.

Bal green screed addy .................but no guarantees:whatchutalkingabout
