So far so preeeety fine a day! Got a new tool/toy today, a very nice deposit cheque from down south for a new commission and Rob said the post office has his 'delayed in the post by a week!!' penguins waiting for him to pick up later today :hurray: A good Friday so far!! :hurray:

Why do you salute magpies??

They're meant to be superstitious. One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret never to ne told. Salute them or get bad luck, so the legend says!

I know people that salute them, others slap their wrists and others that blow kisses at them and others that bow and say "good day Mr magpie". I never know what to do so I do them all. I get some very odd looks.

I always salute magpies, and say 'I salute you mr.magpie i hope your children and family are well'. Must be a Sussex thing.

We got loads of magpies, here - they pinch the cat food, and sometimes there's like a Mexican standoff between a seagull, a magpie and our cat... :lol: He can look after himself though never say hello to the magpie, but say 'good morning world' quite often, so that should cover it?

Most of the eighties and nineties stuff was best.. Have to watch it myself now as the wife hates horror/scary movies, but there's nothing better than being terrified. My 6 year old daughter now loves ghost stories and being scared too. I can't wait till she's older and can watch some of the classics.
