Funded Tuition Fees

Through our working partnership with South Staffordshire College (merger of Cannock, Rodbaston, Lichfield and Tamworth to form one super college) funding is available for students who would like to like to enrol for the Construction Diploma higher level two course in Wall and Floor Tiling.

The course will be delivered full or part-time.

Students that are unemployed can attend two days per week to prevent loss of benefits.

In addition to Wall and Floor tiling the college will also deliver Key Skills which is an additional qualification.

Course venue is Chase Tiling Academy, Cannock Chase Enterprise Centre and entry for the course is via interview. Interviews are scheduled to commence Monday 19th January 2009.

To qualify for funded tuition fees all prospective students must live or work in England.

For employers who wish to train their work force we are able to offer apprenticeships.

NVQ’s

Funding is also available for experienced workers to gain their NVQ in Wall and Floor Tiling and Plastering level two and level three.

NVQ level two is also available for Dry Lining – Interior Systems level two – Ceiling Fixing and Interior Systems level two Dry Lining – Fixing.

Please note: NVQ’s are not courses they are assessments carried out a t your place of work by a qualified assessor.

Registration fees may be applicable for NVQ candidates, and Level three NVQ’s may only be co-funded.

To qualify for funding for NVQ’s (employed and self employed) candidates must be:
19 years or over
Be a UK / EU National
Have been resident in UK / EU for three years or more
Hold no more than 5GCSE’s

Advice should be sought from LSC National Office about other qualification as this may exempt you from being eligible for funding.

You will also need to have a detailed CV with proof of evidence of your experience. If employed provide your employers seven digit number, and for self employed candidates your UTR number (personal tax reference) number. Also if you are a limited company you will need to supply your company registration number.

NVQ candidates will need to complete a self-declaration entitlement fee remission form.

Plastering Courses

Details of all plastering courses, qualifications, accreditation and the awarding body for the qualifications offered will be announced shortly.
