Goals and Targets for the coming year

was wondering if you where setting yourselves some business goals and targets for the coming year.

last year mine was to reduce my weekend work but still keep the same GPP (which I did)

hiya spanish,im booked in for my 2nd plastering course,done a small 2 day one already but am doing a bigger one this time so i can take on all the bathroom plasteriing i sub out myself

also after reading the post from kris(tfs) on doing threshold bars i have been inspired to take on all the small joinery job i generall y sub out also like door bars,,doors getting planed down,baths framed etc etc

so im trying to optimise my profits by doing this and also set the standards i want for my company,

For all you website seekers, then do please consider our sponsor.. The software ranks very quickly with google.. I can rank first page for a town etc within hrs of adding it to my site..

I have a website and would deffo recommend having content management software incorporated in to your website.

As mentioned by Dave this allows you to add/edit your literature which in turn helps you with google ranking etc by using targeted words. I believe that google also responds well to new information recieved when you regularly update the text on your website.

My website works very well in my area and like Dave I added a few additional area/ towns that I now work in and can be found on searches for a tradesman in many of those areas now.

A website is in my opinion the best investment you can make in temrs of a paid advertisement. You do need someone who can build it correctly though as its no good if the functions that you cant see dont work e.g. optomisation etc

My website has worked wonders for me in the last eight months and I have a busy January in front of me which is the first in years. I've had four inquiries in the last week which I've been pricing today. As far as goals I'm just carrying on what I've been building on for some time though I'd like to find a little more holiday time.

To ring people straight back..im a bit of a nightmare about this, sometimes leave it a day or two before i return there calls...And tell the wife i love her once a day, and buy her flowers once a week..Then i might get my lunch made for me!!!

I'm going to try and remember to put my prices up to reflect the increasing fuel, VAT and statuary price increases. I reckon if I add 20% to every quote then I should just about earn the same as last year .

my plan is to learn as much about tiling and any thing related to tiling as i can.
