Pity there isn't a site called "I recommend my customer" Find it really refreshing when you do a job for someone who is genuinely pleased with what you do, shows their appreciation, keeps offering you a cuppa or a sandwich, are pleasant etc.
From my experience there seems to be many who treat you like a second class citizen when you are working in their home. Always seems to be the ones who consider themselves to be middle class, think they are a little bit better than they are. The elderly with hardly 2 pennies to rub together and some of the ones with a lot of money generally are fine.
One customer recently for whom I did 2 bathrooms and a kitchen on behalf of an Interior Design company hardly ever spoke to me, the only times she did was to "tell" me to move my van & complain that I had used her kettle to make a cuppa ( as she never offered me one ), or complain about a bit of dust ( actually on the kettle issue she actually phoned the Interior Designers to complain & I got a roasting ) The day I finished, she was going out at the same time, she got in her 4WD and leaned out of the window and said "when you have done put the key through the letterbox", then wound up the window and drove off. Don't expect anyone to kiss my a***, but a bit of thanks or basic manners wouldn't go a miss !
