Good morning to you all,, abit of adhesive advice needed

Hi all

We are about to lay a travertine floor onto ply all screwed down in the approriate places tiles have been cleaned with wexa and sealed with stain stop.. we are undecided on which adhesive to get local Topps Tiles recommend BAL but is quite pricey... the wickes is alot cheaper especially as floor area is 40 m2... is the BAl worth the extra 175 quid???? what do you all think??
would really appreciate the help also we are going to be cutting with a plasplugs contactor plus is it worth the extra money for the Turbo cut wheel?

depends on where u are based

would deffo not use wickes stuff as aimed at the diy market

tiles should cut with that cutter but make sure u go slowly

also tiles will need sealed prior to fixing and again after grouting

IMO Yes it is worth it,

Look at it this way, You get what you pay for, quality costs.

You've probably spent a pretty penny on the tiles, dont risk spoiling the job by skipming on the adhesive and grout.

is topps tiles the cheapest for Bal?

ceramic tile warehouse sell pci flexi adhesive in white which is better for travertine in my opinion, does the same as bal but at half the price, the cutter will do the job if you go slowly though

i can get you pci flexi white for 23 quid a 20kg bag and u will need 7 - 8 bags so £158 - £181

ps thats my price i get from ctw, you will pay and extra 20 a bag so better to get someone to get for you

i always use pci gear and have never had any problems with it

Stay away from DIY materials, you have spent a lot of money on your tiles so use proper professional materials to stick them down with.
