The thing I like about the 365 drill bits is that they need very little capital outlay, so unless you're doing a lot of drilling, they make sense.

I was in Focus the other day and came across a similar drill complete with a guide, just for that drill. I think it was a 22mm from memory - yours for £24.95 for ONE drill!

Richard will sell you a whole selection of about 6 bits with a guide for some £50.

Dave - got a set of 365bits - they are very good - I priced a set from sigma thru a tile shop here - couldnt go direct to sigma as couldnt find a direct link to them - shop wanted 500euros for the set - the 365 yellow guide/profile is prone to wear out of the diameter with the bits - as you know - the bit on porcelain tends to slide - I think the profile could be upgraded by putting a metal ring on the inside of each diameter to protect the plastic - what do you think?

I did have a problem with the smaller bits on the 365 giude, On closer examination the bit had worn and it was sliding all over the tile!

I managed to get around this by binning the bit and using the new one to drill a hole in the profile.

If there's one improvement idea I've got with the guide, I would make it deeper and put a shoulder on the underside of the hole so that the guide is not in contact with the diamond coated side of the bit, but is in contact with the part of the body higher up.

In any case, the skill here is to use the guide as little as poss, just to get a groove in the tile, then put the guide aside and finish the job.
