Supplies of tiles and materials for flooring and tiling installations

If you’re a tiler or have tilers working for you, does this ever happen to you?
You spend too much time and money organising and collecting tiles.
You spend too much time and money collecting adhesives and grouts.
You don’t always pick up the right size, colour or amount of tile trims.
You somehow forget the spacers, Silicon or sponges.
A mixture of ‘any’ of the above.
Having spent 30 years in the industry I’m familiar with all the pitfalls of running a successful tiling business and like you I have tried to eliminate all the unnecessary running about when I could be ‘laying tiles’ and earning healthy profit.
The other drawback is having your customers organise the tiles and materials themselves which are very often ‘under estimated’ and in some cases will go to another tiler… purely by chance.
For these and various other reasons… using my knowledge and experience, I will act as a supplier to the tiling trade and my services to you are as follows:
On your behalf I will:
Visit customers at a time to suit them.
Help them to choose from an extensive range of tiles I carry.
Calculate ‘everything’ to do the job.
Have it delivered prior to your fixing date.
Collect full payment for the material cost prior to delivery.
Pay you a thank you fee on the ‘total’ supply.
I calculated the average loss per week for a tiler to provide all this is approximately 4 hours a week. Multiplying this by 45 weeks is 180 hours in total…of lost money!
WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOSE BY USING THIS SERVICE?
READ FROM THE TOP AGAIN!
Give me a call if I can help you or you just want more details.

Not keen on that idea, prefer to get my own stuff when i start a job. Wouldn't save me 4 hours a week work time cause i usually pick up my adhesives and grouts etc etc either early morning or later on after i finish another job, so not really in "work" time, in my free time but i am not losing working time. Also like to give the customer a "final" bill so paying for material costs before i have even laid a tile does not appeal to me and i don't think it would to the customer either.
Not for me.

I can't see it working for me either - most people I deal with want me to sort things personally and this leads to referrals and more business - No offence but I'm a bit suspicious of this scheme to be dead honest.

thats what i thought paul...who says he wont take the job off you as well.....just thought i'd put this up and see what you guy's thought of this idea..as far as i'm concerned it is a no no for me.......dave....

Not for me either!
I do the same as Penno collect in time I would not be really making money, plus I would be losing the money I gain from supplying the materials
I also deal with a tile shop who delivers for free, so if the customer wants tiles from this shop I pay over the phone and get them delivered early enough to get things changed if need be,
no offence but stick to the tiling mate!
