Got a quote for Marble, is it decent?

I'd appreciate it if anyone can check this quote for me as I need to decide if I go for real marble flooring or a cheaper alternative.
75m2 Perlato Marble 400mm x 400mm at £28.50 sq/m £2137.50
15 x 20kg White flexible adhesive £262.50
5 x 7kg Flexible Antibacterial grout £75.00
7 x 1ltr Dry Treat Stain Proof Sealer
Total £2755
The alternative would be something like Crema Marfil Stone Effect Ceramic Tile from Wickes at £11.99 sq/m and purchase my grout, adhesive and sealer from Wickes as well.

You need to ask yourself..if you want real stone or a look a like..?

If the perlato marble is good grade then that price is a good price IMHO...

And adhesive and grout prices depends on what make you buy and discounts etc..

Thats a darn good price, if you're not a tiler and don't get any special discounted rates .

Check it's a good grade if going on floors and if so, then you're onto a winner

Although the cost to fix the real marble will be significantly more than a standard tile

You should be able to get a better price on adhesive etc from a tile supplier, wickes will be more expensive I should think.

Thanks for the replies, I've just had a look at some ceramic marble effect tiles and I'm not impressed so will be definitely going for marble.
I'm not sure how to check the grade, it looks fine to me, 12mm thick. I have a tile here I could take a photo of but I'm not sure that would be of any use.

If it's not a good grade, it can be a real pain to cut (apparently. I haven't used Marble yet, but a friend of mine had loads of breakages using a lower grade). I imagine the tile shop should know what grade it is, so might be worth talking to them, as i'm not sure what to look for myself.

R3: There are 4 classifications of marbles.Class A, being the most resistant to breakage and having the least amount of natural inclusions, veins, and inconstancies.
Class B, Class C, and finally Class D, which is the most likely to break because of the above reasons. Normally, the class A materials are more consistent looking while the Class D marbles are more ornate. Class marbles
would usually be harder and more dense, while Class D marbles would be softer and more porous. Hope this helps. Bob, USA.

R2: Marble is classified in 4 grades. Grade A is sound, uniform marble with no flaws or voids. Grade B is similar to A but may have some occasional faults that may need filling. Grade C has variable in quality with some
flaws such as veins, voids and lines of separation. These faults are usually filled and reinforcement may be necessary. Grade D is similar to C but with a higher proportion of faults and requires filling and/or reinforcing.

R1: There are four groupings that are basically arbitrary.
Group A-- Any marble or stone that can be had in regular rectangular blocks of commercial size. Usually sound and free from natural defects. Finishing is at a minimum cost.
Group B-- Same as group A except the size of the blocks maybe smaller. Finishing cost may be higher due to texture and size of slabs.
Group C-- Any marble or stone that cannot be sold as sound. This stone will have minimal natural defects such as fractures, surface voids, dry seams etc. This requires rods or reinforced liners.
Group D-- any marble, stone, serpentine, onyx or breccias. Irregular shapes and the most reinforcement available. Steven, USA
