MULTIFIXFLEXIBLE WALL TILE ADHESIVE
READY MIXED WATER RESISTANT and SELF PRIMING ADHESIVE
Conforms to BS EN 12004 D2T Rev: 04-11
DESCRIPTION:
Thin bed water resistant, self priming flexible adhesive.
Suitable for fixing wall tiles such as ceramic, porcelain, glass, fully
vitrified and mosaics in domestic and commercial internal
locations such as kitchens, bathrooms and showers.
Not recommended for use in permanently damp or wet
locations such as swimming pools or external areas.
Suitable for direct fixing to a variety of surfaces including plaster,
plasterboard, concrete, cement render and existing wall tiles.
Also suitable for timber surfaces or areas with slight vibration.
Thin bed means thickness up to 3mm.
PREPARATION:
Surfaces should be sound, dry and free from oil, grease, dirt,
dust or other contaminants likely to affect adhesion. If not,
then an Acrylic Primer and Bonding Agent must be used.
TILE FIXING:
Apply adhesive to the wall using a 5mm notched wall trowel such
that a continuous bed of adhesive approx 2-3mm thick is achieved.
When tiles are applied, use a twisting motion to ensure there is
good contact between the tile and the adhesive. Occasionally
remove a tile to ensure there is good adhesive transfer.
Apply an additional layer of adhesive to tiles with deep studs
to cover the studs [never attempt to fix porcelain tiles
greater than 300mm x 300mm with Multifix]. Remove
any surplus adhesive whilst it is still wet. Avoid disturbance of
the tiles until the adhesive has set.
APPLICATIONS:
Cement Render: Should be left 14 days prior to fixing. Direct
fixing can then take place, provided the wall is flat.
Brickwork and Blockwork: Should be left 28 days prior to
rendering. Wall must be flat for tiling.
Plaster: Should be left 28 days to dry prior to fixing tiles.
Plasterboard and Timber Boxing: Ensure these are fixed securely
to prevent vibration or movement.
Glazed Surfaces: Abrade tiles with wire wool to provide a key
before fixing commences. Ensure the existing tiles are securely
fixed and there is no contamination on the surface to interfere
with adhesion.
Painted Surfaces: Fixing to these areas should be avoided. If it is
necessary, remove any flaking material, abrade the surface and
mechanically remove all paint, getting down to original backing.
Timber Surfaces: Ensure boards are securely fixed to supports.
The adhesive may also be used for fixing plaster coving and
mouldings.
GROUTING:
Grout with Granfix Wall Grout or Maxigrout for surfaces with
slight movement.
PACK SIZES: 15Kg and 7.5Kg
COLOUR: Off White
COVERAGE: Ceramic Tiles - 1.4Kg per metre2
STORAGE: Store unopened in cool dry conditions.
Protect from frost.
SHELF LIFE: Stored correctly, this product has a shelf
life of 12 months from the date

I used several tubs the other day (reluctantly as the customer insisted), and despite the long list of tiles it is supposed to fix i would not recommend at all.
Ok for normal ceramic wall tiles under 200mm, only.
Certainly not not for large format wall tiles, and as definetely not for floor tiles. A suitable cement based adhesive should have been used for both walls and floors.
Sorry for the bad tidings.
