Grout and drying time

Hello Again,

I would appreciate any suggestions to which brand of grout is best for shower cubicles.
This question has been ask before but products change as do preferences.

Also what is the recommended drying time for grout and Silicon before using shower, I have seen two weeks suggested is this correct ??

Mapei Ultracolor Plus....48hrs before using shower.

Most grouts. After 24hrs, Silicon, 24hrs later use shower.

Hi, i think the codes of practise will still state, two weeks for cement based grouts, i would consult with the manufacturer of chosen grout/silicon for ideal curing times and when to bring areas into service.

mapei on walls , not for me , hate the stuff

2 weeks is a bot of an over kill imho
could go down the route of epoxy , fully water proof , just a thought

If white then Bal Microflex. If coloured then Mapei UCP. 2 weeks is recommended by manufacturers but I feel a few days should be sufficient.
