Grout Bag???? OR Gun????

Being doin this for years and the first time i heard of a grout gun was last year when a joiner gave me 1 to try out, i told him he was havin a laugh., wouldnt like to grout a 1000 metre floor with a grout gun, or even 100 metre floor for that matter, still never tried it out, but since joining this forum noticed the grout bag mentioned a couple of times, still dont beleive its a time saving tool, even when grouting slate etc. cant beat a squigy and a washboy, so come on whos used 1 and is it really worth an investment?

I have used a grouting gun on slate, it was 95sq metres, we grouted it, let it go off a bit, cleared excess of with a paint scraper, then cleaned with washboy, the tiler helping me laughed when we started, now he uses it all the time on slate, he reckons its soooo quick, and he has been tiling 30yrs. Then only thing you have to do is to find away to fill the gun quickly.

still think a squigy would be faster, need to meet at high noon and have a Draw see whos the quickest!!

Grout bag defo for slate, pipe the grout straight into the joint and wipe off with a clean damp sponge, saves getting the grout into the layers of the slate, turn the canvas bag inside out to wash and your done, they only cost a fiver so cheap enough to try out, the gun is rubbish as its a pain to get the grout into the tube and to clean out after use, expensive as well about the £20 mark for the better quality ones
