Hy folks... my mate just text me. he got his kitchen floor tiled a week ago (dunno why he didnt ask me lol :ninja🙂and he says the grout is coming up in places and was wondering if I knew what would cause this!!

any ideas? cheers. (i wanna sound like I know what may have caused it so in future he might ask me to do it the swine lol)

Tell him they just need a tap with a big hammer to sort them out..then you get the re-tile....

more than likely they have used the wrong grout especially if its onto wooden floor as flexi grout should have been used, other possibilities are grout too dry when applied, movement in the wooden floor, check that tiles have bonded too the floor.

yep, grout too dry when applied - usually happens when the customer has their heating turned up to maximum. :furious3:

Also if wood floor and adhesive is not flexi...or the grout, the grout is the first thing to come out with tiles below de-bonding......looks like your so called mate has been ripped off........Gaz

Tell him to sound the tiles - my guess is if the grout is wrong the addy will be too maybe?
