The "best looking" is ½ - 1mm. Whether it's acceptable or to British Standards is another matter...
movement is always a possibility john.........What is the substrate? You can usually go tighter on a solid floor where movement is not an issue but 3mm on timber prepared.
The Eagle porcelain are usually pretty good quality but surface preparation/flatness will be an important factor.
I mostly use 3 on floor and wall. I like to keep things the same, just seems neater.
If doing 10x10s for kitchen splash then I use 1.5 joint.
I done my ex girl friends bathroom 600x300 polished porcs with a 1mm joint, looked really good, + only used half bag of adhesive for the whole room
