Grouting

Hi, I've just (yesterday) tiled my kitchen floor, and proceeded to grout it immediately, and have since found out I shouldn't have done this.
Can anyone please tell me the implications of doing this?

How long did you leave the tiles before grouting ?

did you use rapid setting adhesive?

I used Unibonds extra strong adhesive and grout all in one, and pretty much grouted as I tiled...

oh dear...........most tilers will use a rapid setting adhesive (a powder you mix yourself) that dries in 2/3 hours, then you grout.

dont really rate that tile and grout all in one.

powder or ready mixed ?. Never use that stuff anyway.

It's all new to me, first time tiler..... it was ready mix

It appears to have dried, but the tub says allow 48 hours to dry before use, i'm mostly concerned about wether it will set alright under the tiles with me grouting at the same time as tiling, and how strong the bond is likely to be (as I said, i'm a complete novice at this, and really don't want to be doing it again)

i dont think you will find a tiler on this forum that would use ready mixed addy for a floor.

all i can suggest is to wait and see if the floor stays down, if it starts to debond (which i think it will) then you will have to start again.

if that is the case then if you post on the forum we can talk you through the whole job from start to finish, how to prep the floor, and what materials to use.

Was the tiles porcelain or ceramic

by grouting the joints the ready mix will never set properly so more than likely it'll only be the grout that is keeping the tiles down. what size and type are the tile BTW?
