hello ,im peter,we have contracted 2 ggvlonsceeds at 2 different addresses over the last 2 yearsand both have caused us probs ,we ceramic tiled a kitchen with under floor heating ,the customer and there plumber fired the underfloor heating up full bore the week after we completed the floor ,instead of take our advice of introduceing the heat gradually in a fortnights time at the earlist ,customers?lol long story short were now haveing to re tile areas ,i do have to say tho we preped the gyvlon with pva,i no now its not wat i should of done but 1st experience of gyvlon sceed ,can you tell me wat primer i need ,wat adesive works best ,and ware i can get some counseling lol:hurray:

Gyvlon screeds are not difficult, provided that you:

1. identify that it is a Gyvlon screed
2. remove laitence by sanding the surface and vacuuming the dust
3. ensure that UFH has been correctly commissioned prior to tiling and any cracks repaired
4. use a gypsum based adhesive and fix tiles ensuring a solid bed fix

Has anyone bought a hair hygrometer and if so where from? how much? any good?F Ball only do a digital one now but a search throws up Dial hair hygrometers, is this the right one...seems very cheap if it is ?
You can use the digital ones. They aRe nowhere near as accurate or responsive though. We just testing various moisture methods to see which works best because proper hair hygrometers are becoming difficult to get hold of.
