Gyvlon screed

Hi there,
looking for a little advise here.
We have tiled a floor following all of the manufacturer instructions.which were to check for moisture,sand and apply primer.We also said we would prefer to be belt and braces on this so would a decoupling matt also benefit the job and we were told it would.We also asked about the kerakol adhesive which they said we could use however the weber SPF and primer we had on site would suffice.dispite following all the instructions to the letter we now have tiles lifting around the room and tiles cracking where the expansion joints were in the screed.Im aware there have been many problems with these screeds as people have cut corners however as we have went above the requirements it is raising many concerns for us.Has anyone else came across these problems with these screeds as I have never had such big issues with any other concrete floors and I find this can be no coincidence.??

how large is the area? was this floor tiled on an finished site or in a building that was open to the elements when the tile installation took place? many problems can occur with this type of substrate

Hi and welcome....did you follow the expansion joint from the screed into the tiles...

Yes, floor was tested for moisture.sanded,primed then decoupling matt fixed then tiles fixed all using webber SPF .floor has piped underfloor heating.

No expansion joins we're not tiled over a gap was left and covered with a trim.
virtually all tiles around expansion joints lifted!

How many coats of primer and at what ratio ?
What make primer and type ?
What adhesive was used to fix matting?
What uncoupling mat was used ?

Limestone tiles,one coat of pre mix webber 360 primer.webber SPF sticky used on advise of screed company.duravit mat used.

Ok how old was this Dural ? The old type was yellow with round dimples. The new type is Dural Ci+ with clover leaf style dimples and green stitching.
Are the tiles lifting from uncoupling mat or is it the mat coming away from the Gyvlon screed ?

Job was done around six month ago and we used the yellow matting which I was told was the best one available at the time!! Mainly the mat coming away from the screed however a couple of the tiles we have lifted had not adhered to the mat very well either!

Ok Dural and some other uncoupling mats had issues with the fleece coming away from the mat. You need to see if this is the issue first as there has been quite a few cases of this.
