half bond tiling around revels

ive been reading about the half bond techniques and was wondering if any1 had an photos of halfbond/brick block around a window revel.. thanks

not a window reveal....but, the principal is the same:

Depends on the depth. If its of metro size then I'd break the bond, if a large format would just keep them all the same.

thanks for quick replies,, also nice tiling protiler... let say the window revel im tiling round is half the size of one of the tiles, in the photo. do i break the pattern.. and have 2 quarters of a tile over a half of a tile,, hope that makes scene.. thanks men

On the above size I'd just cut them all to the full width of the reveal.

Ok, think I follow you. On the above example I did not continue the brick within the reveal but you can do it if you want, here is another trick, just use full tiles then simply make the appearance of the brick bond continuing by taking one tile and make a 3mm pass over it with a good bridge saw to simulate the appearance of 2 tiles, less messing around.

nice work charlie1,, i was talking more about the actual revel its self,, when u tiled your revels did u turn the tile to the portrait position and carry on the brick block pattern that way? thanks

Try and keep the pattern flowing round the reveal, sometimes a whole tile will be used sometimes the bond, it's something I consider at the setting out stage. In this pic the bond flows around into the reveal

Thanks pipeline, I'm unable to reply with quote. No, I did not continue the brick in to the reveal in this one. My preference is not to continue it in most occasions as it can cause other issues but as said before, sometimes it looks good

It's a funny old thing, brick bonding, sometimes the room works really well, sometimes it's a pain to wrap it around nicely giving the impression of the tiles flowing around the room. A careful bit of setting out and trying a couple of different layouts can make all the difference.

A few adjustments to the windows had to be made but this is today's finishing !
