hi all
need some advice on laying hardi on tg floor boards, the floor boards are fairly secure ,i will add a few more screws to secure,
1.can i then use bal rapid set flexi direct to tg floor boards and hardi on top of that or
2. should i use a 12mm ply, screw to floor boards and then flexi and hardi?
3.or just stick to 18mm ply and flexi.

never used backer boards on wooden tg floor before,i am laying ceramic tiles on a ground floor bathroom and kitchen ,
floor boards look old but fairly solid in most places.
any advice thnks

for piece of mind go for 12mm ply screwed down 150-200mm apart prime and tile on top of that. Obv your floor level is gonna raise a bit so if thats an issue I hav used a backer board called No More Ply which uses an expanding adhesive and screws to fix down is only 6mm thick seems to work ok. I think some of the Granfix adhesives are sold as being compatible with T&G providing they are secure but check that out. At the end of the day better safe than sorry and go for prefferred option

With 6mm backerboard overlay, we at Bal still recommend 2 part flexible adhesive, 10mm backerboard is our minimum recommend for single part or rapid flexible....Gaz
