Hardibacker?

I know you can't use plasterboard adhesive on Hardibacker, but can anything else such as gripfill, no nails etc be used to glue it on sound plaster skimmed plasterboard?

Cement boards need to be mechanically fixed. There would be no point in glueing cement board to plaster etc as you are just adding weight to a substrate that can't hold much weight as it is.

why are you wanting to fit hardi backer to . sound plaster skimmed plaster board?
is it a weight issue what size tiles are you wanting to fix,and what material are they , as you would be adding weight with the hardi backer to the wall, the above got in there before me slow typing

You can fix them with concrete screws if its a solid wall, will still need drilling but no plugs etc. Just drill a pilot hole (dont breather the dust in fromt he boards though) the right size for the screws and drive them in with a drill/driver.

Customer wants it, tried to talk them into a membrane waterproofing but they insist that this goes up.
