I am redoing my bathroom and for the shower cubicle will be putting up Hardiebacker board and then Homelux matting before tiling.
My bath will have three walls surrounding it. One of which is a partition wall which already has the bathroom side of the wall removed so will be replaced with Hardiebacker and Homelux matting. The other two walls are breeze block and have what looks like a thick plaster skim over the top. It could be plasterboard with a skim but I'd have to have a proper look when I'm back at home. Below where the old bath was installed it is just down to the breeze block. The plaster round most of the old bath level is crumbly in places.
I was going to just put some Homelux over the top, down to the new bath (when it's installed) but now I'm thinking it would be best to remove all the plaster down to the breeze block and fit Hardiebacker and Homelux.
I will be tiling the whole of the wall. It won't be used as a shower bath but I still would like to do the job properly (or the most ideal even).
If Hardieback on to the breeze block is the way to go then what is the best method for attaching it?
Thanks in advance,
Daz
