Has anyone tiled on to a victorian tiled floor?

The likelyhood is the tiles fall into the minton hollins catagory, if this is the case then they will be laid tightly and well. If you decide to take them up then thats your choice but as I said earlier the use of Durabase CI or Ditra mat should answer your needs.

Thanks for the pointers! I agree it seems more than a little strange to get rid of a perfectly decent floor especially in the name of "modernisation", but hey a job is a job as long as it is completed properly. I will also rescue the old tiles for a future reincarnation in a more loving environment.
