I am making some coasters for friends and have some ceramic tiles with my art on it, using modgepodge coats and then polyurethane coating. They look great (see attached). I let sit for 2 days. Sadly, a hot cup of coffee leaves a slight ring. Any ideas on a reasonably priced heat resistant finish that will leave a nice gloss without brush strokes? I am not even sure modgepodge is the best to use. Most the sites on that are all girly and don't address this issue.
