Hi everyone,
just a little question, im about to put down a UFH mat to my small bathroom, and was thinking if i was to buy an extra 1m2 could i run it up the wall and lay it behind a piece of mirror that is going to be stuck to the wall and tiled around, just to make it an anti mist mirror, is that possible or would the heat crack or damage the mirror? has anybody done anything like that? im looking at the 150w UFH kit.
thanks

I can't see it not working, as above it really could do with being seperate so that you can switch in on and off when you like, but there's no reason not to do it.
My only query is, will it be touching the paper on Plasterboard, i'm sure that can't be a good idea, but i don't know for sure.
Just make sure that there will be no drilling any where near the mat, and make sure the mat is 100% bedded into adhesive, otherwise it could burn out.

Thanks again the more im thinking about it the more im put off now, i use to have a radiator below a mirror in the bathroom and the rising heat kept it mist free but i wanted to do away with the radiator and go with just the UFH option and had a brainstorm to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, nevermind though, and thanks all again.

I'm pretty sure it would work but it probably wouldn't be covered by warranty etc. And there's a chance the heated mirror 'sheet' thingies are set at a much lower temperature, so you may risk cracking the glass as you say.

Get a heated mirror sheet thing. Pretty sure it's just ribbon underfloor heating but in small squares.

And that stuff does work I've had it myself before now. Pretty nifty feature for a bathroom as steamed mirrors are a pain in the bum.
