Many here use a fein multimaster, or similar to remove old grout.

Hi Scott888 and welcome - I have a job on for a family member who needs her hall regrouting......after trying a few different things I think the fein seems to be the way forward although pricey at £200 will be in your tool kit for a long time I think!
