All of the above info is spot on. If you allow the tiler to rectify just 1 tile that is fitted incorrectly, then it will cause the one that is next to it to have the same problem. In effect you are just moving the problem round, it has a knock on effect so the only answer is to remove the whole lot from what I can see from the pics.

From a house holder point of view make sure no money has changed hands. Also the cost of materials could be claimed back through the small claims court. Having the advice of these guys, the photos you have taken, and the fact that the tilers reply is unsatisfactory, gives you a good case. You may not get a financial resolution quickly but I wouldn't let him get away with it. Or he will do the same on his next job. What if his next job is a poor old lady that can't argue her case. This tiler either needs to put the whole lot right at his cost, or be made to compensate for the cost so far.
