Hi Guys,
Just joined the forum a couple of weeks ago. I'm currently finishing my service in the RAF and after a lifetime of bombs, bullets, aircraft and being away from my family I wanted a total change in direction. I have always enjoyed tiling and have done the tiling in my own home and some friends over the years and have always got a real sense of satisfaction at the end of a job. I have got about 3 years left in the RAF and have completed a couple of courses in tiling and plastering, but will be looking to continue to attend as many coures as I can before I finish. I intend to work for myself as a tiler when I finish in the RAF, as an engineer I understand the value of good quality tooling, so I'm in the process of upgrading my tiling tools and putting together some business ideas. I will look to spend the last 3 years before I leave the Forces getting as much experience of tiling as possible by doing jobs for mates as well as working as often as I can with plumbers, tilers and kitchen fitters that I know before I officially go solo. Bit of a long introduction, but I'm really serious about producing high quality work for customers that I can be proud of even though I've been in the RAF for over 30 years. Hope you haven't all lost the will to live after reading this.
