hi
I am anew member and would like to say how helpful i have found the forum. i fitted a shower to my last house and had no end of troubles with leaks etc due to poor advice, a lack of experience on my part and using Homebase tiles and adhesive. Now having moved into a new house I didnt want to make the same mistakes again. So i did a bit of research and found this forum:hurray:
So we moved in about 18 months ago, it is a 1920's house that has been somewhat neglected by its previous owners, and i am in the process of trying to catch up with repairs so far i have replaced the boiler, wiring, water main, painted the house and windows rendered the porch etc but have now turned my attention to the leaking shower tray in the ensuite. i have removed the old tray, cubicle, tiles and basin replaced the floor board under the tray where it had got damp, skimmed the walls where they had put wood chip on to plaster board, replaced the plaster that had bubbled on the solid walls and have bought some Ardex WPC tanking to seal the shower then i will be replacing the tray and enlosure the basin tiles and have an aqualisa digital shower waiting to be fitted.
After this is done i need to sort out the bathroom with its artex walls and decorate every room which all have worn carpets wood chip wallpaper and my pet hate polystyrene coving.
All this has to be done with the assistance of two toddlers who think that picking the mortar out of a brick fireplace with their toy screwdrivers is helping dad!!
Thanks again
